Michael Knox Beran was born in Dallas, Texas, in 1966. He graduated from Groton School in 1984 and holds degrees from Columbia and Cambridge Universities as well as from Yale Law School. A lawyer, he lives in Westchester County, New York, with his wife, Mary.
